In her practice she focuses on relational psychotherapy, inviting and encouraging the development of the therapeutic relationship as a means of growing and integrating a solid core self. She also offers counseling for those interested in addressing a particular issue and wanting to find new ways to address this in life. In her practice, she sees both individuals and couples.

Utilizing her extensive yoga experience, she also works with clients to develop individual yoga programs that can be utilized at home or, for therapists, short yoga sequences that can be used between client hours.

Individual Psychotherapy Session

In an individual psychotherapy session, the therapist and client form a relationship that allows the client to experience, in the presence of the therapist as witness, mentor, and guide, what may yet be unprocessed from the past so that the experience becomes integrated into the developing self.

Couples Psychotherapy Session

In a couple’s psychotherapy session, a model developed by Sue Johnson called “Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy” is used to help clients discover the established relationship patterns and learn ways to circumvent and change those patterns so that a deepening in intimacy, connection, and attachment can occur.

Counseling Session

In a counseling session, the therapist and client address a current issue and how the client can manage this in daily life. Counseling may or may not lead to psychotherapy.

Private Yoga Session

In a private yoga instruction session, a personal yoga program is developed that the client can utilize at home or in the office. Private sessions can focus on strength or flexibility, or on physical conditions such as back or neck challenges, fibromyalgia, or chronic fatigue. Often, a program is developed, utilized for 2-4 weeks and then adjustments made as needed.

Supervision

In a supervision session, the client will present a case, receive feedback, and process how to approach a particular client situation. This meets the BBSE requirements for Associate Clinical Social Workers collecting hours to obtain their license.
